Tour of Beirut

Byblos, also known as Jebeil, is the city in the Keserwan-Jbeil Governorate of Lebanon. It is believed to have been first occupied between 8800 and 7000 BC and continuously inhabited since 5000 BC, making it one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the world. Be sure to start your walk at the top of the town, making your way through the souk before descending down to the port. Visit the Fossil Museum, L'Aterlier du Savon Barbar and explore all the beautiful local artisanal shops.

Byblos

The Jeita Grotto is a system of two separate, but interconnected, karstic limestone caves spanning an overall length of nearly 9 kilometres. It is the longest cave complex in the Middle East it sits at 300 metres (980 ft) above sea level and has a height difference of 305 metres (1,001 ft).

The city is known for the ruins of the Baalbek temple complex from the Roman period, housing two of the largest and grandest Roman temples: the Temple of Bacchus and the Temple of Jupiter. It was inscribed in 1984 as an UNESCO World Heritage site. Make sure to visit the Ummayad Mosque and to stop for lunch at Lakkis Farm.

Beiteddine Palace is an 18th-century palace in built by Bashir II. It is recognized as a fine illustration of Lebanese architecture from the early 19th century, with notable Italian influences. Sitting majestically on a hill surrounded by terraced gardens and orchards, Beiteddine Palace is one of the highlights of the Chouf Mountains.

Visit the Shouf Biosphere, the largest nature reserve in Lebanon, and admire our beautiful cedars.
